About the RGV

Located at the southernmost tip of Texas, the Rio Grande Valley lies on the northern bank of the Rio Grande River, which divides Mexico from the United States. Made up of four counties (Starr, Willacy, Cameron and Hidalgo), the Rio Grande Valley is populated with over 1 million residents.

The Rio Grande Valley is a subtropical coastal region with mild, dry winters and hot, humid summers. This unique climate plays a specific role in making the Valley a great destination for birding, butterfly watching, and nature lovers.

The proximity to Mexico is a great way to experience a different culture close to home. With nine bridges in the Valley to get to and from Mexico, you can go have breakfast, do some shopping, and still make it back in time to watch the sunset on the South Padre Island bay!

Rich in culture and history, the Rio Grande Valley is a wonderful place for anybody to call home.
